The Nike SB Zoom Stefan Janoski is arguably the most well known skate shoe of all time and for good reason. The ever reliable and comfy Janoski has been commended for its enhanced grip, great boardfeel and good flick, whilst simultaneously being one of the cleanest looking shoes for non skating activities.
The Nike SB Zoom Janoski RM Shoes is a special edition release, celebrating the ten year anniversary of Nike SB Janoski shoe. Similar to how a classic album is remastered on its anniversary, the Janoski RM features the same minimalist aesthetic, with an upgraded outsole, sleeker toe box, slightly more cushioning and a softer, more durable suede.
When I heard they had improved the Janoski, I was stumped at what they could actually do to upgrade it however they surprised me! The shoe looks much cleaner and from a few laps of the shop it was very obvious that they are more comfortable than their predecessor. I put this down to the thicker foam in the sockliner and a slightly softer sole.
The Nike SB Zoom Stefan Janoski RM is also available as a slip-on!
To summarise, Nike didn’t have much room to improve this shoe without losing the classic Janoski look and feel, however they did an amazing job! Softer, more comfortable suede resulting in a better fit and more control when skating plus more cushioning for those hard impacts has resulted in one of the sleekest, high performance skate shoes around!
